TOP - ZZ Top Tribute Band
TOP (a tribute to ZZ Top) - Four guys / no beards…Four guys because the 2nd guitar allows us to bring our sound just a little closer to the ZZ Top songs we’ve all been listening to on the radio, for more than 50 years. TOP is primarily a bar band, but we enjoy playing private events, along the occasional town greens or country fairs.
TOP is;
Mike Merrill on guitar, Mike’s been involved with numerous projects since the mid 70s, two notables are Nobody’s Bizness and Johnny Sixgun. Mike’s been a big fan of Billy Gibbons and ZZ Top, since Moving Sidewalks.
Drummer Mickey D has been performing since 1970. He’s the founding member of the Classic Rock band Tree Beard, featuring Jimi Bell. Mickey’s played in several local bands over the years, Bates Motel, RedZone and So What, to name a few. Add to that list, tribute bands, Big Ten Inch, (Aerosmith tribute) and Feels Like the First time (Foreigner tribute)…And now TOP.
Mark D’Anzi on bass and vocals, Mark’s been performing as long as ZZ Top, and in more bands than he can list, but here’s a few you might remember, Foxfire, Quik Band and Grand Avenue.
Guitarist and Vocalist Max Collins has enjoyed being part of the eastern Connecticut music scene for over a decade. Whether performing as a solo acoustic act or with the band, he always has fun entertaining a crowd. A lifelong admirer of ZZ Top’s music and style, Max is grateful to share the stage with his band mates, striving to provide the best ZZ Top tribute in the area.
